2006 - Mississauga Election    -    The Mayor's race

Was this a case where there was an effort made for history to repeat itself?
You be the judge. 

    Grant Ouellette suddenly dropped out of the Mayor's race to run in the Ward 2 race.  A Ward he did not live in.  Would it have anything to do with the meeting that took place between three of the Majority candidates {Donald Barber, Grant Ouellette and Roy N. Willis}, in mid-Sept., at this Swiss Chalet, for a rubber chicken dinner and one person playing the role of power broker as to how the Mayor's race should be run - between just 2 candidates.  Bring back any memories - like incentives - you know who? 

    With the race down to just 2 candidates it would be so easy for the other to drop out after the nominations, period had past and Hazel McCallion gets acclaimed for what is in all likelihood her finial term in the Mayors office.  Her last great hurrah, not run a campaign and acclaimed, would it not be natural to think she would be feeling very inclined towards those who made it happen?

    In 2006, I {Donald Barber}, was arrested early in the year because of claims by City security and Hazel changing the rules as to how Council runs it meeting.  This was before I was registered as a Majority candidate but as I have run in the past and had been doing a lot of digging through City records, etc., - like I was on to something - it was reasonable {by those watching and reporting to the Mayor, as City staff, etc., do}, to assume I would be running in 2006.  Then there were the bail terms which said I should not communicate with the Mayor.  Plus, City By-law twice during the election came after where I live.  Then there is the fact City election staff tried to have me arrested.  More than the usual efforts to, would you not think, to remove a person from an election by those close to the Mayor?
