Mississauga News - July 10, 2009 - Letter by Cheryl Glassford Letter of the week (The following letter was addressed to City Councillors George Carlson, Frank Dale, Sue McFadden, Carmen Corbasson, Nando Iannicca and Eve Adams. A copy was filed with The News for publication.) Dear Councillors: When I read an editorial in The Mississauga News about the disintegration of morale in our city council, I was appalled. I contacted Carolyn Parrish and was very dissatisfied with her response. I have since begun to enlist support to make changes. The tool I will use to make these changes will be my vote and the votes of the people I enlist to help me. I plan to support a candidate to run against Parrish for Ward 6 in November 2010 and in any attempt she may make to run for mayor. My reason for this is my complete dissatisfaction with her behaviour and the behaviour she seems to inspire in others. I have been a resident of Mississauga since 1980 and have always been proud of Mayor (Hazel) McCallion and the job she has done for us. I won’t rest until I have done everything possible to insure she is not replaced by Parrish. I would also like the mayor not to have to endure another term spent bickering with Parrish, who seems to use council meetings as a platform for campaigning. It appears that (all councillors address) support Parrish and, to be fair, I would like to hear why you feel her behaviour is acceptable. I understand you might agree with her on issues, but that is not my complaint. My complaint is her disruption of council business for her own political gain. I would like to know your position on this. I’m sure the voters in your ward are interested, as well.
