Arboricultural Committee Formed

Mississauga Mayor Hazel McCallion has convened a new citizens committee to encourage public participation in making Mississauga “a City of trees”.

The Mississauga Arboricultural committee, informally known as The Tree committee has announced it will seek public assistance to plant as many trees as possible in Mississauga in 1989.

The Mississauga Arboricultural Committee is now comprised of nine members whose backgrounds and interests include environmental concerns, horticultural, landscape architecture, tree planting and preservation as well as recycling, ecology and biology.

The Committee seeks financial and volunteer support from Mississauga residents and businesses to meet its short and long-term goals.
