Boy what coverage - 3 sentences regarding an inquiry into the actions of the mayor of the 5th., largest city in Canada. Really shows how much the Globe & Mail cares about justice issues and leading politicians.
Pictures - of the Oct. 28, 2009, Council Meeting dealing with the Judicial Inquiry.

The inquiry is estimated to cost $2-million to $2.25-million and take about 40 days. Council voted for the inquiry last month to look at whether Ms. McCallion erred in not disclosing a conflict of interest in a 2008 meeting that considered a land deal tied to her son's firm.

Kotter49 (12-34p), I agree 100%, figuratively of course - literally would be too scary to contemplate. Mississauga's back room dealing and different sets of rules for different parties are legends, like Hamilton in the 1970s.

Read all of the documents before you tell me she is innocent. Look at December 2008 and January 2009 meetings and emails. Look at OMERS, HAZEL and ENERSOURCE and then OMERS, HAZEL and PETER MCCALLION timelines, meetings and tell me that all is fine. The laws apply to all and that includes Hazel McCallion. The size of this scandal is huge and the media need to focus on it for the residents of Mississauga.

We will have to properly thank Carolyn Parish for all this when it comes to election time. Parish will try every avenue but the honest one to get elected, either as Liberal MP or now Mayor.

The empress has no clothes. It's just been a matter of time until someone pointed it out.
