BUT --if you believe other citizens may benefit from your words or you just want your concern for the public record, Mr. Smith is correct. Make sure you cc the City Clerk! Many of my emails begin with "[cc: to City Clerk. DO NOT ERASE. I WISH THIS TO BE A PUBLIC DOCUMENT WITH OPEN ACCESS TO ANYONE REQUESTING THIS THROUGH FREEDOM OF INFORMATION. OPEN ACCESS INCLUDES MY CONTACT INFORMATION AS WELL AS MY NAME] It won't help with accountability, but other citizens can document how your complaints were ignored (which I've confirmed on behalf of others through Freedom of Information).
