Michael J. Hare is simply parroting decades of brainwashing: "Mississauga, model of excellence, best city in Canada, greatest Mayor the world has ever seen." Well, who wouldn't want that? So easy to succumb instead of making the slightest effort to determine whether there is even a shred of truth in the propaganda. The last thing these people want is anything that upsets their comfortable illusionary world, even when it is the truth. Mr. Hare writes that "Mississauga has had a marvelous record of achievement, mostly under the direction of the current mayor." This is an unsupported assertion. Probably he thinks it would be easy to prove, but it's so obvious that he doesn't have to. I'd love to see him try. Why doesn't he present FACTS? Supporters of the inquiry present facts, but opponents present opinions and slogans. Coincidence? By the way, I've seen enough of UTM now to conclude it's just an appendage of the City of MYTHissauga and you can't trust what "studies" come out of it. It is all as lame as the recent "spam a councillor" campaign the threathening developer was backing. {Can't name him for fear of reprisal. Mr. Hare - that you would advertise that this cause is what propelled you to write your first Letter to the Editor suggests you have little perspective and no clout in your community.
