Mississauga News - Dec. 29, 2010 - By Julia Le - jle@mississauga.net Lakeview school demolished Plans for a new elementary school in Lakeview took another step forward today with the demolition of Lyndwood Public School. The Hartsdale Ave. elementary school faced the wrecking ball so a new kindergarten-to-Grade 5 school can be built in its place to house students from Byngmount Beach, Lyndwood and Neil C. Matheson public schools. Grades 6-8 students from Byngmount and Lyndwood will go to Allan A. Martin Sr. Public School, which will undergo renovations to accommodate the influx of pupils. The new school, Hartsdale Avenue Public School, is scheduled to open next September. The decision to build the new school came in the wake of a Peel District School Board Accommodation Review Committee process that studied four Lakeview schools for consolidation due to declining enrollment.
