The Missing News called me about this and acted like they wanted to print this letter but then I complained about how they were reporting about me and nothing happened.
Mississauga News - Letter to the Editor - Mar. 20, 2007 By Donald Barber
RE: In regards to "Nando defends salary,".
Poor, Poor Nando - tax-payers just do not pay him enough for him to do his job or maybe we just can’t pay him enough for him to be satisfied. I think the Mississauga News should print how much he and the other Councillors can expect to be paid for their full 4 year terms at current rates. Then note how much a 2% or 3% raise would add to that so we can all really understand how impoverished our elected officials - who can vote themself’s a pay raise whenever they chose to. Also we should not forget this Councillor has job related expenses, like suing people who question him or the other members of his family, also on the public purse. I say he is not paid enough - why? Well recently a letter was sent to the Mayor and all Councillors asking for permission that I could contact them as any other Mississaugan would. You see after the attack by City security I am suffering a restrictive bail terms as I can’t but justice in court.
There were only 2 City Councillors who agreed to allowing this basic of all Democratic rights and he was not one of them. In fact, he is on the record as being the greatest opponent to Public Question Period over the years, as well. So I say pay him more, much more and maybe he will be able to afford all Mississaugans the time of day. Home Page - Main Table of Contents - Back up a page - Back to Top
