Maybe we will even get a death bed watch, the TV can cover with people braving the weather, standing outside her window, praying for her - imagine the spectacle! People should be praying for her soul and start now. So retiring is not something Hazel supporters could afford to wait for. Apart from having the honour of being the first of Mississauga's Mayors' to die in office, likely she also would be the first female Canadian mayor to die in office. A cheap effort at getting into the record book but Hazel doesn't care if it works. No one (she cares about), is coming forward to say she is taking things a little too far and people can see it. From what I know, the real reason for Hazel McCallion making sure that she will die in Mississauga's Mayor chair is that she knows it would be the hell on earth for her to be alive if someone else took over as Mayor, while she still lived. That all her secrets would be made public. That how she has cooked the City's financial books would be made public - remember the last Provincial election where the ruling Troy party said the books were balanced and after the Liberals took over, the fact that Ontario was $5 Billion in debt came out! Image the same for Mississauga. Image if the truth regarding Hazel's brutal methods used to run the City of Mississauga came out? No, Hazel McCallion, like all dictators will not suffer life without the power to rule without question or challenge. There would be no life worth having for her, after leaving the mayor's office.
