The event was a great success. Approximately 50 people of all ages showed up to pick up garbage, enjoy a sunny fall day in the bush, and to learn what is new with the Cawthra Bush and residents' efforts to preserve it. The event started at 1 p.m. with a quick overview of what has happened since our last clean-up such as the discovery of the provincially rare Jefferson Salamander in the bush. A display was also set up for everyone to view some salamanders, maps, photos, and other information relating to the woodland. Concern was also expressed by those in attendance when told about the vandalism that had recently been done to the walled garden. The Friends of The Cawthra Bush would like to thank all those who participated as well as the City of Mississauga for helping us organize the event. Peter M. Phillips Mississauga
