Lists of Elected Officials - over the years for the;
As a person who has studied politics and politicians in Mississauga these events can have many meanings, so you have to look all possible outcomes from the different scenarios. The basic facts are simple Hazel McCallion has been the Mayor since 1978, 31 years and not shared power - her way or highway. She has been an elected official in Streetsville and Mississauga going back to 1968. She has said there is a "coup" out to get her and hoped no members of Council are a part of it, meaning knowledge that she is very unpopular in City hall. There would be no shortage of candidates for the office of Mayor if Hazel McCallion was not running, if any thing it is very odd that so few people have run against her in the past. Why does Mayor McCallion keep running? Would it be because in decades of her rule in Mississauga there are far too many secrets, skeletons in the closets, misdeeds and questionable deeds, that if made known by whom ever should replace her, while she lives not only would her legacy be sunk. She could very well be held to account - like Jean Chrétien, answering before a Public Inquiry regarding past buried details of political dealings. Most other politicians knew when to get out when the going was good. She really has no choice but to die in office. They say the good die young - I hope she lives forever!
Hazel McCallion is a human being and therefore subject to all the flaws and ego that humans are prone to. She done many great things (but at what cost?), she is a masterful (second) career politician. And we all know what politicians are - ask any 10 year old to complete this sentence "Politicians are nothing but a bunch of ...." Human beings love strong leaders, who are often abusive, throw their weight around, act in their best interests first, dictatorial, have little regard for the laws that protect society and taxpayers - often changing them as they get in the way and make them look bad. Better to change the law and make a wrong right, then to try and explain why violated it.
The BIG LIE. The BIG LIE is the blind spot for humanity. When the perception is exactly the opposite to the facts, and people have attached their opinion or by way of their public support, their self worth (support of the winningest team or person), to try and get them to suddenly consider that they are totally wrong is the hardest thing to do. It is easier to suggest a person is partly wrong in something but to say they are totally wrong, means you have crossed the line and are calling into question the core of their personal beliefs - that have serve them well at keeping them alive & comfortable, to this point. Hazel McCallion use to get elected as being the people's Mayor, now the closest she come to that is her regular visits to China (wonder who teaches who when she is there). Democracy and its laws are all about this happening and stand ready to serve the community if called upon to make right what could be wrong but first we must question and be willing to investigate - to have an open mind is our duty. Those who gave their lives or other great sacrifices, did so that we would have the chance and it is only a chance, of having our liberty, freedoms and justice that can only be allowed in a Democracy, they can not rest easy if we blindly support those who act as those we have fought wars against in the service of our Democratic beliefs. Every day we must fight this battle in our hearts and minds, lest it get root in our nation and we become what we claim is evil. To error is human. To commit crime and try and lie your way out of it, is all to human too.
Power. Another element to consider is that power corrupts and longer a person has had power, the greater it is and less accountability they have had - the greater the chance they will become totally corrupt. Personally having presented the media with important facts about the Mayor of Mississauga, that she is an unlawful developer, that she sat in Council and said there is a "coup" out to get her, that Mississauga is really Billions in debt by its own account, she killed the subway into Mississauga and nothing is printed. Why - proof of the media in bed with the Mayor (how is that for a mental image)? That the changes to Public Question Period only make those on Council and City staff less accountable. All in all, the media have brought us to this sorry state, not the efforts of people like myself and others, trying to inform & meaningful involve Mississaugans in their local government. Another key stone of unaccountability is that being elected over & over means the Mayor has great power and influence in who fills the senior jobs at City hall. That many may feel they personal owe their jobs to her and therefore their loyalty is not to local government as a unbiased civil serpents (not the right spelling, but like this better). This can be seen in the current affairs by the fact the City had to get an outside opinion about if Conflict of Interest could have happened and by who. Interesting that in the recent past Council came out of an in-camera meeting and voted that they had confidence in the City Solicitor & no reason given - I wonder why? That when the City Clerk was asked to explain how the minutes of the Council meeting were changed to include the Mayor's declaration of a Conflict of Interest when none was made, there was a great lack of who done it. Another powerful argument for term limits on elected officials.
The curse of a popular politician. Hazel McCallion has for years been a popular politician and even a cult of personality exists by those who don't know or care to know the facts about her, help along by the media. The media can't be turned to for the help that the public has often seen in the movies. The media created the myth of Hurricane Hazel, the feisty Mayor of Mississauga {as if it is good thing}, at a time when there was a need for success stories of women in government, as role models. Being a shortage of possible choices, she got picked or maybe even help to arranged it. The Booster was the McCallion newspaper. As the media created Hazel, how likely is it they will say, sorry we created an abuser of power, liar, profiteer and what some would call a monster. After all didn't Dr. Frankenstein protect his monster? People love heroes, local ones who you can talk to or shake their hand are better still. Trying to say a popular politician could be a bad person will make you many enemies very fast of people who really should have better things to do with their time and no real dealings with the politician besides saying they are great and so am I for being a supporter. As a result Mississaugans are afraid to speak-out, to even question, no matter how slight. Especially as she is an women and a senior - how dare you! How hard is it to tell people to stop loving and start to hating a (not so) poor little old grandmother, an international symbol of the feminist movement, as well as other points? Don't forget the business community loves her, she is their sacred cow. Is it not easier to get rid those who are poor and trying to play their role in Democracy by informing their fellow voters of the facts?
Elections. Hazel wins elections by a large percentage of the casted votes, these votes represent far less then 50% and once less than 20% of eligible voters. How can it be really said she has won majority support? Why do they vote for her when in the last few years she has not even bothered to campaign and has even left the country on trips! Because the media has not made it known what she has been doing - pro-government censorship. By the way, the reason she doesn't do election campaigning, besides her age (just not up to it), is that I am running. It use to be like a victory parade of Hazel going around from meeting to meeting spouting off about what a wonderful job she has done. Then I showed up and told people what she had really been doing and her land deal etc., she let the media do her campaigning. It is common knowledge that if she was dead & buried, if her name is on the ballot, she would be elected.
In politics getting elected or your people in power is everything, second place gets no prize. Mississauga is the 5th or 6th largest City in Canada and a prize many politicians want, even if they will not publicly say so. And all that has to be done, is remove Hazel McCallion from the 2010 election - by hook or by crook but make it look like someone else did it. Like the Peel police, a Judge in an Inquiry or maybe a tap on the shoulder and a brown envelope.
What is really going on? Having said a lot in the lead-up what do I see as the results? This is being written Oct. 4, after the historic Council meeting where Hazel McCallion is being called out to "do some explaining" and before the terms of reference for the Judicial Inquiry. Having noted that the behind the scenes goal is to remove the Mayor from future elections, how can that be done? By going after her son. The Mayor doesn’t care what happens to her but as she has shown that she is willing to act very unreasonably in her sons interests, would she not reconsider running for reelection if it would stop the worse happening to him? Knowing what I do about the McCallion family it can said she has been too protective and has spoiled them with her cheque book, as an older mother trying to make up for not being around because of her career actives. If this Judicial Inquiry just looks at the Mayor it will be a waste of money and go no where, given the current facts - no profit took place. It will be a replay of Hazel McCallion's first trial for Conflict of Interest, that allowed her to keep her seat because even though she was guilty as hell for being a part of the debate both inside & outside Council and voting on the rezoning of her land, the land was not sold before the trial, no profit from the Conflict of Interest could be proven. As the deal involving her son fell through not only did they not make money, likely lost money for the effort and resulting Court action. However, former City of Mississauga Councillor, Larry Taylor and I have been in communication and it was suggested that Influence Peddling, which is a criminal charge is a possibility, especially if the Inquiry goes years back and look at all the deals the McCallion's have been involved in. Now what do you think Hazel McCallion will do to stop her son from being arrested, charged, etc? To stop the probe from going too deep into how her family has made its money, its past deals, what its assets are or even how much they have made. Can't you hear the back rooms being clean-up for the "talk'in to"?
There is another way this could end - the Mayor could take the witness stand and be so confused as to the facts, she seems to be or ruled to be mentally unfit to hold office. Not so far fetched if you read how she keeps changing her accounts of what has just happened to her, when she talks to the reporters.
There is much more that can be added by I am over worked, poor and being a light rod for the fascist minded that drives away those who support in principle but in fact as they are too afraid. So if you want to help me and be helping everyone - try contacting me.
Mississauga's Hazel McCallion faces a judicial review of her involvement in a $14.4 million land deal involving son Peter McCallion, after a 6-4 council vote. Here are some key dates gleaned from interviews and court documents.
2004: Peter McCallion develops idea for a hotel complex near city hall.
Jan. 31, 2007: His company, World Class Developments, and landowner OMERS sign conditional deal for land.
July-December 2007: World Class applies to lift zoning restrictions.
March 31, 2008: Mayor McCallion and senior city staff meet with World Class and potential hotel operator. Mayor says she was there only to give her vision, not influence anybody.
April 23, 2008: Mayor declares a conflict when zoning comes up.
April 30, 2008: Council postpones rezoning decision to May 21 because sale isn't finalized. Mayor is absent, though present for a meeting after.
May 21, 2008: Rezoning comes before council again. Minutes later state the mayor declared a conflict, but videotape shows she did not.
September 2008: Deal is unravelling.
Dec. 1-15, 2008: World Class and city still negotiating infrastructure fees.
Dec. 15, 2008: According to court documents, mayor attends private meeting between OMERS and World Class over OMERS' wish to back out. Says later she was only there to listen.
Jan. 9, 2009: OMERS dumps the sale.
July-August 2009: OMERS now plans to sell land to city. World Class hangs on. Issue lands in court. Affidavit by World Class's Tony DeCicco mentions mayor's presence in meetings.
Sept. 30, 2009: Council finalizes purchase; calls for judicial review after getting a legal opinion. It states McCallion was in conflict when she failed to declare, but there is no legal precedent to say she was in conflict at meetings absent of other councillors.
Media Articles, etc. & those that are related to this issue;
There are a number of stories about me noted, the reason why is that for years I have lone voice saying Hazel McCallion has been doing dirty deals and getting into a lot of problems - even thrown in prison for it. Now, when it is clear I was right, the media does not note me or that I am at the meetings or how I am treated, still.
Lists of Elected Officials - over the years for the;
That the Peel police - O.P.P. - R.C.M.P. were all investigating any kind of political corruption in Mississauga finding things as small as $ 28.00 and yet totally missed the fact Hazel McCallion was part of a four-some running MacRan a company that's stated purpose was to develop land in Mississauga? And that Peter McCallion was in the mix too?
Right after the City of Mississauga was founded in 1974 and Hazel McCallion elected as one of it's Councillor to represent the interest of the voters, what does she do? From the Apr. 23, 1982, Toronto Sun column by John Downing,
"Macran filed with the consumer and commercial relations ministry shows it is a company with a Mississauga address formed for the purpose of "development and property management". McCallion, her husband, and Allan and Agnes Randles are listed as directors of the company from the date of incorporation on March 14, 1974. Allan Randles was appointed in 1974 by Mississauga council to its committee of adjustment and the Peel land division committee. He was reappointed for two terms. ... a body that deals with minor zoning changes,"
"Records in the Peel Registry Office show that Markborough Properties Ltd., sold 2.6 acres of vacant industrial land in Mississauga on Jan. 30, 1974, to Peter McCallion-in-trust, the mayor's son. The price was $79,740. According to the same records, the land was conveyed to Macran on April 9, 1974, for $2. Macran sold the parcel for $212,640 on Sept. 13, 1974, ...
The price had increased $132,900 in seven months".
The ink is not even dry on Mississauga's birth certificate and the McCallion's are busy exploiting the youngest City in Ontario.
News articles about the 1975 Mississauga Judicial Inquiry - Municipal Investigation. Good articles to present the basic facts and ask insightful questions that help the reader understand the under laying politics that are often not reported meaningfully to Canada taxpayers. And yes, Hazel McCallion is noted with reference to "a political witch-hunt"
Really great quotes like Hazel McCallion wanted the Judicial Inquiry to investigate the claims of wrong doing - "If people have put allegations to you (the Mayor) then it is time to put rumours to rest." and "Dobkin had been encouraged by ... Hazel McCallion to hold the inquiry."
In the words of Mayor Martin Dobkin - "Over the past several months a number of persons have come to me and made serious and startling allegations of malfeasance in business, including allegations of bribery, influence peddling, obstruction of justice, assault and the unlawful acceptance of benefits. These allegations extend back several years".
1979;
Nov. 10, 1979 - Evening - Mississauga Rail Derailment & Evacuation. An event the Mayor - Hazel McCallion - made sure had the spotlight squarely on her and made it seem likely she the great hero of the day. Whatever the facts, this event made Hazel unbeatable in elections ever since. Talking to people they sound like she was out there on the fronts line, like she was the only person who knew what to do (you - Fireman, you missed a spot!), a fire hose in one hand and lifting a burning tanker car in the other, moving it away from homes, saving families. The birth of a urban myth to be sure.
Mississauga gold rush Apr. 23 - 1982 - Toronto Sun - By John Downing - This short article has it all, catching a politician red handed and in court regarding Conflict of Interest, which Hazel McCallion was later found guilty of. That the Mayor of Mississauga is in danger of being thrown our of the Mayor's chair and barred from running for office for years. Macran - a company set up to do “development and property management”, of which is a part of. When she was asked about this in court she was told not to answer! Cronyism! Hazel McCallion's business partner on the committee of adjustment. When he was reappointed in 1981, Hazel declares a Conflict of Interest - but did she when he was first appointed? The company that Hazel McCallion is a director of makes $132,900 in seven months!
Less than 10 year after the failed Mississauga Judicial Inquiry Hazel McCallion gets nailed in Court.
County Court, Judicial District of Peel - Graham v. McCallion - Finding of conflict of interest at relevant time Hazel McCallion GUILTY !!!!!!!!! because she failed to admit to facts and thereby lengthened the proceedings; because she contested throughout the hearing a finding of conflict of interest which the trial judge said "was the only finding that could be made"; because she breached the Act in all four of the ways in which the Act could be breached.
The Appeal - High Court of Justice - Divisional Court - Graham v. McCallion Judgment held !!!!!!!!! Ontario Reports - Sept. 30, 1982
Interesting that 1982 was an election year to.
Ron A. Searle (the good), ran against Hazel McCallion (the bad). During the election debates Ron would take out a piece of paper and read the Judges decision against Hazel. However, most people didn't understand it. More interesting, once he couldn't find it and Hazel makes fun of him saying he should know it by heart by now, everyone laughs. Yes, people saw it all as a big joke.
When was the Hazel myth born? When was MYTHissauga created or solidified around Mayor McCallion?
Look at the timing - before the 79 derailment she was the feel good Streetsville cheerleader and one of the few examples that women can hold elected office. BUT, then there was the 79 derailment and then in 82 we had her Court case, which she lost and then an election which she won. Mississaugans had to make a choice in what they wanted to believe - she was a crook or hero. One made them feel good, the other bad, so what if she was as crooked as any man could be (makes her equal - yes?), what do we expect, she is a politician. BUT, she saved Mississauga! So Mississaugans rallied around the feel good Mayor and kissed reality goodbye.
Dec. 4, 2006; Hazel McCallion is sworn into the Mayor's office. Because Hazel McCallion has not only sworn to obey the law but signed it as well, does this not mean a contract exists? TheOath of Office for elected officials of Mississauga is not to obey all the laws or even to represent voters as should be the case in a Democracy but specifically obey the Municipal Conflict of Interest Act. { WOW they got a whole Act just for this - must be important } The Oath of Office is here, below is the relevant text.
A key point - Hazel McCallion, the Mayor of Mississauga, has sworn this oath many times & signed it and has more than once broken this oath! The actual oath of office she signed for 2006.
This video shows Mississauga Mayor Hazel McCallion's December 4, 2006 Oath of Office. In her Oath she proclaims "I swear to declare any pecuniary interest, direct or indirect, in accordance with the Municipal Conflict of Interest Act."
For the record, the Mayor failed to declare Conflict of Interest at the May 21, 2008 Council meeting regarding a land deal involving her son, Peter McCallion.
That really isn't the true worrisome part. The kicker is that the May 21, 2008 minutes were doctored to show that the Mayor had declared! And the minutes were doctored in two places! { or at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7nKHaDjRrY4 }
The oath of office is as follows;DECLARATION OF OFFICE - (Section 232 of the Municipal Act, 2001)
I, , having been elected or appointed to the office do solemnly promise and declare that:
1. I will truly, faithfully and impartially exercise this office to the best of my knowledge and ability.
2. I have not received and will not receive any payment or reward, or promise thereof, for the exercise of this office in a biased, corrupt or in any other improper manner.
3. I will disclose any pecuniary interest, direct or indirect, in accordance with the Municipal Conflict of Interest Act.
4. I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth the Second (or the reigning sovereign for the time being).
And I make this solemn promise and declaration conscientiously believing it to be true and knowing that it is of the same force and effect as if made under oath.
You can fight (at) city hall Mississauga News - June 7, 2007 - By Torstar Network - "McCallion suggested Parrish was ... grandstanding." Councillor Parrish who does like the answers that City staff give says "So if I ask questions in open session on (cable) television, I have a right to do so," What a great article not only does it document how "Simmering tensions between Mississauga Mayor Hazel McCallion and newbie Councillor Carolyn Parrish erupted at council", as it has often been said that Councillor Parrish "a former MP rumoured to have ambitions for her {the Mayor's}seat." but also notes the way the Mayor has kept a lid on how business is done at City hall AND that the TV cameras play role in Council power plays. Who says I make these things up?

MISSISSAUGA'S BAD EXAMPLE Globe and Mail - Sept. 13, 2008 - By John Barber - Words worth repeating & written before the whole Hazel Conflict - Inquiry had started. "For decades, Ms. McCallion proudly held up Mississauga as the exemplar of cities, a super-managed citadel of fiscal rectitude, a low-tax haven "paying as it goes," building paradise by squeezing nickels - above all, debt-free. Now she tells us it's a financial wreck in desperate need of federal rescue. ."
The Dec. 10, 2008, City of Mississauga Council meeting - first hand reporting. As this issue involves Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS), Borealis and Enersource, the Dec. 10, 2008, City of Mississauga Council meeting where council voted to buy the 10% of Enersource (Mississauga Hydro) owned by Borealis (OMERs), the timing is interesting. The Mayor and her supporters were very strongly against buying the 10% that gave Borealis (OMERs), such control and money. Some great sound bites on my web-page. Timing - Dec. 15, just 5 days later Hazel McCallion, is at a meeting with the owner of the vacant property, Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS), that Peter McCallion's company (DiCecco affidavit), World Class Developments, trying to get an extension on the termination of their deal with WCD for not lining up a proper, legal agreement with a hotel operator. This become public in news articles down here.
So lets get this straight - Hazel, Peter and OMERs walk into a Hotel room, just 5 days after ranting on about how she'll fight the stated will of Mississauga City Council to dump the 10% partnership at Enersource with OMERs. Now - what are we to make of this?????? Don't know about you but it sounds like a really bad joke - on US!
Jan. 23, 2009 - The Mayor's special Enersource meeting that was boycotted by the Councillors that voted to investigate the sweet heart deal between Borealis (OMERs) and the City of Mississauga. If you want to check out more news articles try here.
Really sad I have not update all the articles dealing with this as it ties into the Inquiry so completely. But there is some much, I am not paid and trying to seek justice in Peel's Courts against those in government who have harmed me. However, there is time to post a really interesting event. After the meeting two of the main players in the Enersource deal (Hazel McCallion & Michael Nobrega), met and kissed like they thought because the network cameras were not on them, no one was recording them. Suddenly, Nobrega sees the cameras, they break apart and an offer to join them is made - like there was nothing questionable going on. Calling their bluff, the offer was taken up on but they split. The Democratic Report leaves you to form your own opinions, in the mean time lets have some fun with that event - video below.
This is from the Ontario Municipal Employees Retirement System (OMERS)(Mar. 21, 2010), about Michael Nobrega - President & CEO. "Michael Nobrega was appointed President and CEO of OMERS, effective March 12, 2007. He also served as Chief Investment Officer until December 31, 2009.
Prior to his appointment, Mr. Nobrega was President and CEO of Borealis Infrastructure, which he launched in 1998.
Mr. Nobrega is a former president of a merchant bank and partner at an international accounting firm. He earned an Honours B.A. (Economics and Mathematics) from the University of Toronto, where, in 2002, he was honoured with the Arbour Award for outstanding community service.
A Chartered Accountant, Mr. Nobrega was named a Fellow of the Institute by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario in 2009 — the highest designation the Institute confers and which recognizes outstanding career achievements as well as excellence in service to the community and the profession."
Of special importance is the fact he was the head of Borealis at the time the City was doing the Enersource deal. A deal that the Mayor really wanted Borealis / OMERS involved in and involving a contact that the Mayor says she just didn't read to discover the last minute changes to it!

Also at the Sept. 30, 2009, Council meeting I tried during Public Question Period, I tried to address Council in the way acceptable to Council since it changed the rules in 2006 and Councillor Parrish interrupted me saying there were new rules now. That I was limited to just a couple sentences before asking the question and was so threatening towards me as to trying to terrorize a person who has already been thrown in prison on false charges by the City regarding PQP. A formal complaint was filed against her for her abuse and staff (below), and of course nothing happens - Mississauga you know.
What is most interesting is that I was trying to give Council Government documents for the Inquiry that show a clear link between Peter McCallion and his mother, while she was sitting as Mayor in a business deal. A transaction involving the company Hazel McCallion was using to act as a developer in Mississauga and that she had been hiding the details of. Also, a letter from a City Councillor to a developer regarding Peter and getting rezoneing that staff were opposed to.
Even after being so abused by her during the meeting, I made a special effort to show her the documents afterwards and even after seeing what they were she didn't want them. Very questionable for the Councillor who has been so public as leading the effort for a Judicial Inquiry into Hazel and Peter McCallion's business deals to say get lost to someone with proof of not only a business deal but one involving a subdivision company!
Very questionable actions by Parrish indeed - maybe the Mississauga Inquiry is just a front to get rid of Hazel and the outcome has already been decided.

RE: Formal complaint regard the conduct of City staff and Councillor Carolyn Parrish.
Dear Hazel McCallion: Oct. 21, 2009
...
The Chair - Councillor Carolyn Parrish - claimed that the new rules which had been voted on minutes earlier during deputation by the Mississauga South NDP, were now in full effect. I questioned her logic and the rules. Councillor Parrish then began her threatening verbal assault on me such that I was in fear for my safety, as last time doing nothing wrong had put me in harms way by the City’s actions. Councillor/Chair Parrish STOMPED not only on me but PQP to make sure a question could not be properly, lawfully asked - Video to be posted soon. The fact of the matter is that both she and the City Clerk later acknowledged the rules changes would not come effect at the same meeting and at the next Council meeting, Oct. 14th., they did not because the motion was so badly presented to Council Sept. 30th.!
Following Councillor Nando Iannicca lead - "We are going to come clean ...To do anything else makes you unworthy of public office." & “For us to have turned a blind eye to this and said, `Trust us, it's nothing' – well, this is Mississauga; it's not Vaughan” Clearly what happened to me must not happen again to anyone. The Complaint is in regards to Councillor Carolyn Parrish not knowing how to word or present motions to Council and how Council processes work, that rules changes don’t occur instantly.
That the City Clerk, Crystal Greer, the City Manager Janice Baker and the City’s solicitor Mary Ellen Bench, who I believe were all present, for doing nothing to stop the situation and correcting, Councillor/Chair Parrish and enduring my rights were protected
What really rubber salt in the wounds you left was at the end of the meeting, the vulgar way you and other Councillors joked - LAUGHED - about how the business of meeting was done and if it was even legal. Well it was not and it is time for those responsible to be told so and admit publicly it was not.
I should receive a written apology and the chance to fully ask my question as it was unlawfully denied. That staff should be directed to inform the Chair of the rules to ensure this not happen again to anyone, especially if a Mississaugan taxpayer questions their treatment.
And now for a moment of comic relief.
?????? - How many arms does Hazel McCallion have - ??????
A question many people asked and resulted in this cropped picture being used there after.
Don't want to confuse peoples minds, too much with thinking for themselves.
All is not well for Hazel McCallion. The Mississauga mayor is in the thick of conflict-of-interest accusations surrounding her son, Peter. What's worse, though, she is apparently being pursued by a phantom limb, visible only to the Star's cameras. Yes, that right there is Hazel and Peter in a Star file photo, shot by photographer Ken Faught, and that right there is the Star giving them a hand.
The photo with the extra right hand—the result of an unfinished edit to remove whoever else was in the shot with the mother and son—was used by the Star in September, which landed the paper a spot on PhotoshopDisasters, though it was a mistake that the Star caught, updating their story with a cropped shot. But for one reason or another, the arm's back: the Star's now used it twotimes in one week to accompany a story about Hazel, the most recent article being today's "Defiant McCallion rallies supporters." The article's first words? "With her 31-year grip on Mississauga slipping..."
If you want to see the photo much larger, and so disproportionately more unnerving, by all means:

No more for Peter Mississauga News - Mar. 4, 2010 - Letter by Douglas C. Kerr -
Mar. 4, 2010 - Mississauga Judicial Inquiry at the Burnhamthorpe Rd. Court. - Video by Democratic Reporter Don B. The Hearing was about two items the Mayor's office and others providing records to the Inquiry. What is most interesting - as the Mayor would say - is the fact the Mayor's office has a habitat of deleting E-mails so fact, when they are easiest and cheapest things to store. Even more interesting is the fact the City's main computer system has not be checked for back up records, or so we are lead to believe. However it flies in the face of what was said by the Mayor in this news article - the "Mississauga Mayor's private cache of emails", "a "half-inch thick" file of printed emails Ms. McCallion", "Hazel was rather menacing, intimating she was going to use her collection of emails to help defeat some of us in the next election," And then there are concerns about online security - "One of the printouts was of a private BlackBerry conversation between Ms. Parrish and Councillor Sue McFadden, but neither knows how Ms. McCallion obtained the document" Then there is "the Mayor acknowledged she stored all emails from, or about, councillors".
William McDowell, Inquiry Counsel: "Now. In relation to Mayor McCallion. We have understood that we were getting some documents from her. And you’ll hear from Ms. Wynn on behalf of the City on this issue. But we have a concern in that we received correspondence on the 26th of February which indicated that, in a number of areas, the Mayor really doesn’t retain documents.
So Ms. Christianson who’s here and Ms. McIntyre, said for example, that with respect to electronic correspondence, letters FAX and emails,
“Once emails are printed off they are deleted from the system. They aren’t archived. The Mayor doesn’t use email. All email sent to the Mayor’s email account are opened and read by the Mayor’s executive assistant and are given to the Mayor either directly or through daily mail log. The Mayor’s office does not keep electronic copies of any emails or responses.
Telephone records, records of incoming telephone calls are kept only when specifically asked to be left for the Mayor."
The decision by Justice John Douglas Cunningham regarding Peter McCallion's request for more taxpayers money to deal with a situation he created and the records.
