Ron Starr A former City Councillor, "a prominent Mississauga businessman who was interim president of Hydro Mississauga Corporation until he "stepped aside" from the position more than a year ago, is charged separately with defrauding Human Resources Development Canada in relation to grants for summer employment programs." Does he have a hard time showing up for court? It would seem to me, that if anyone of us (non-prominent Mississauga business-people), missed two court dates, for what appears to be no apparent reason, a bench warrant would likely to issued the first time. Word is that as he was represented by a lawyer and he did not need to appear and judge (or was it a J.P. ?), echoed and that in the end the Court apologized to the Starrs' - waiting for more info to be sure. The facts are now in! It was a Mississauga News editing error - "In fact, Madam Justice Katherine MacLeod stated only that a discretionary bench warrant for the Starrs was still in place at the time. The Mississauga News regrets the error." Well, if anything proves you can't trust what you read in the papers - have to go out to the story yourself! Newspaper articles; There are more just have not got them up, yet. Judge wants Starrs' in court The 2006 Election In the closing days of the 2006 election a flyer was found being left at the doors of home in the Mavis Rd. & 403 area. It was 2 sheets of paper, done on the poor quality photocopier (likely liquid toner) and has certain lines highlighted by hand - someone sure has time on their hands. It has nothing to suggest who is doing it. Going to have to get the text posted some day - one is above. Really interesting how Mr. Starr talks about being |
