MADD did not respond to its letters. ![]() MADD Canada National Office RE: Mayor McCallion becomes a LIABILITY to the City of Mississauga & MADD's cause. Dear Sir: May 5, 2006 The Democratic Reporter covers the news/stories that the other main stream media do not and publishes at this web-site - http://the-democratic-reporter.com/. Stories about Mississauga's politicians are posted for the public to review 24-7 and requests are posted for more leads for stories are answered. Most recently the Hazel McCallion Car Crash and news releases have generated significant interest and feed back. Here is one example - "Prior to joining the ***** department he was with Peel Police. He told me that on 2 occasions he stopped the Mayor for drunk driving. He gave his superior officer a letter saying if he should stop the Mayor a 3rd time for drunk driving, he would charge her. I know this man well as I worked with him for 5 years." Aside from that, which I am sure MADD can understand it will only be a matter of time before this all blows up in MADD's face (sooner then later), the issue of Mayor McCallion being a clear and present danger on the roads is before MADD. Main stream media are now calling me for the inside scoop about Hazel McCallion and combined with my current project - The Political History & Almanac of Mississauga, all the details are coming out. This will include how organizations have protected her from being held accountable for her actions for so many years. Failure to do so has resulted in the continuation of inappropriate behaviour. It was put to MADD, in letter dated Nov. 23, 2005, that - "MADD should make a presentation (or otherwise go on the record), to Mississauga City Council and stress that there have been concerns from the public that Mississauga's elected officials need to set a better example when it comes to drinking and driving. Chauffeurs should be used for events where there could be drinking." If MADD had supported the use of chauffeurs as suggested then the Mayor's driving accident would not of occurred. Also, there has been no response from MADD in regards to my Nov. 23-05 letter and MADD's actions and inactions are being carefully documented for publication. MADD needs to show leadership and go on the record as to if it supports politicians using chauffeurs for their work and particularly in Hazel McCallion's case due to her age, her tendency to multi-task while driving and doing this after a very long day as the 85 year old Mayor of Mississauga. Time to get off the fence and show people where you stand - do you support action that help end dangerous diving or not. In Hazel's case she lost control of her car, jumped a curb, plowed over a sign, roared through an area where pedestrians stand to cross the road and wrapped the front of her car around the stoplight pole, which has the pedestrian crossing button on it! If her car had not hit the pole it would have kept going into the intersection and the pictures on the Democratic Reporter show all of this. I am willing to discuss my letter with you and there is an answering machine you can leave a detailed private message on. My phone number is (905) ***-**** & E-mail ******************. Sincerely yours & Looking forward to your response to this letter. _______________________________ Donald Barber - Editor. [COMMENTS BY DON B. - ] |
