RE: Mississaugans politicians and impaired driving.

The Democratic Reporter covers the news/stories that the other main stream media do not and publishes at this web-site - http://home.eol.ca/~donbar/. Stories about Mississauga's politicians are posted for the public to review 24-7 and requests are posted for more leads for stories which are answered. For years now the stories about a long time and powerful Mississauga politician and her impaired driving have been forwarded to me. So often and from different people, without even being asked, they can't be all wrong. It is reported that she is often stopped by the police, driven home and no charges filed. This has become common knowledge but also a backroom joke that she can get away with it as she wishes. A powerful politician who's impaired driving and getting way with it, has become part of her legend and an open joke, right under MADD's nose! This matter should be investigated, call me for more details.
Time is not on the side of an impaired driver either in keep it from becoming public (MADD - "driving after consuming alcohol is a public matter."), or avoiding a car crash, that could include killing someone. MADD recognizes that "That impaired driving crashes are not accidents" and that everyone needs to do their part, including MADD taking on impaired politicians!
MADD Canada's statement of beliefs;
That our primary reason for existence is to eliminate the killing and maiming caused by impaired driving.
Leadership on this issues means you must deal with elected officials, the same ones that MADD asks for support from. MADD is on the record supporting "aggressive enforcement by police, crown attorneys, and the courts is essential to eliminating impaired driving." To be taken seriously this must include the same elected officials you count on for support in government, no matter how powerful they are. This letter is also to serve you notice that if this politician should be involved in an impaired car crash and injury or God forbid kill some one, it will be made public that MADD was informed of this likelihood but did nothing!
MADD should make a presentation (or otherwise go on the record), to Mississauga City Council and stress that there have been concerns from the public that Mississauga's elected officials need to set a better example when it comes to drinking and driving. Chauffeurs should be used for events where there could be drinking. Just because politicians are in the habit of getting away with it, does not make it right.
