I don't even live in Mississauga, Ont., yet I'm offended to see the phrase "clash of titans" used to describe Councillor Carolyn Parrish's ongoing efforts to usurp Mayor Hazel McCallion. Ms. McCallion is truly a titan. She is arguably the most successful mayor Canada has ever seen, successful in both leading the extraordinary achievements of her city and in her unprecedented voter support. Ms. Parrish's most significant accomplishments have been embarrassing herself and her country on national, international, and now municipal stages with her sensational antics and attention-grabbing schemes. The only things "titanic" about her are her ego, and her over-riding ambition for roles that she regularly proves she is too small to fill.
