National Post - Oct. 31, 2009 - By Megan O’Toole, motoole@nationalpost.com A pending inquiry threatens to damage the legacy of Mississauga Mayor Hazel McCallion. As the cliche goes, it will be a slippery slope once we start to make exceptions especially for emotional reasons. I admire Caroline Parrish's brave efforts. She may be known for tilting at various windmills in the past but I seriously think she is on to something now. If Hazel comes out clean after this political process, this will make her legacy in aMississauga even more admirable. Many years into the future, residents of Mississauga and Canada will appreciate Ms. Parrish contribution to strenghtening our democratic principles. by alpha_1 Oct 31 2009 Having recently moved to Mississauga from out west, I'm not up to speed on what's going on politically here, but I know how I feel.......and that quite frankly is that I don't trust ANY politicians these days. I think there should be an inquiry (read 'damn the cost....full speed ahead!') over this issue, if for no other reason than to keep some high profile people honest and accountable by RogersJi Oct 31 2009 I guess Carolyn Parrish hates political opponents more than Americans now. As I remember Carolyn Parrish as a federal Liberal, I would not trust anything she says, she speaks with a forked tongue. If she is leading this charge the media should search out her ulterior motives. Judicial reviews, like any court cases, usually destroy the one charge even if they are completely innocent. Many people falsely charged are remembered as being in the press so cannot get employment or go broke fighting the false charges.
