This letter is about how the City of Mississauga in 2011, has really ramped up its attacks on me. Stated with the usual assault by staff and Peel police obeying their instructions to arrest the victim - me. Then as I try to fix things - City staff go on the attack again - busy as usual. Dear Editor: Sept. 28, 2011 How many uncivil servants in Mississauga City hall does it take to get a business card? About 7 including a security guard and Ward Councillor. Sound unbelievable? Perfectly normal for those who are black-listed by City politicians. Earlier this year City By-law dropped by to have another go at me and my home, so inquires were made about building permits, told not needed but forgot to ask the Planner’s name. Went back and this time a supervisor was put in my face wanting to know what I wanted. The business card of the Planner dealt with last time, who was sitting 10 feet away - no. Can I have his - no. Can I at least have the first Planner’s name - no - and you get nothing shortly (maybe this guy serves soup on the side). Clearly too confrontational and argumentative for my taste. Called out to Planner wanted in the first place and it was call security Barber is here!!!!!! Having had enough of world class service from City staff, went to Councillor offices for other business - he followed me, continuing to harassing me, then left. Security showed up about an “irate commuter” call. To the credit of the receptionist she explained there wasn’t one. A Councillor Assistant comes out, after dropping off letter about how By-law was enforcing City rules on the family home with extreme authoritarianism, she is asked for help in getting the forbid name, has to come back, wait, when she does come had to ask a number of times for her to just walk 100 feet to find out and she does, never to be seen again. Wait longer - Councillor Jim Tovey comes out with the uncivil one, who got past unseen by a back way and the security guard is hiding behind the door listening to the private dealing between a Mississaugan and Councillor. It was surprising how many times I had to repeat myself as no one appeared to hear me. I was even told there is a government process for getting a persons name! As this new Councilor has a staff first approach in explaining what was going on, it has clearly poisoned the chance of a friendly relationship. I stuck to my guns and kept telling them they were not listening, wanted the name of Planner who said I didn’t need building permit. Suddenly, the supervisor leaves, tries to come back but he doors have locked so we have to go to him - God does have a sense of humour. He shoves a page of rules at me with a business card stapled to it, saying I was told a building permit is needed. Right in front of the Councillor staff will lie - shame! I explained the facts and the Councillor agreed, no permit needed. City staff are coming after me knowing any trouble these bullies start Peel police will arrest me for - welcome to the brave new Canada, we are all paying for.
